7th UK Learning Analytics Network meeting, Newman University, Birmingham, 22nd June 2016

Our next UK Learning Analytics Network meeting is taking place at Newman University, Birmingham.  Booking formLibrary, Birmingham

 

 

The programme (draft below) includes:

  • An update on Jisc’s learning analytics programme from Paul Bailey and issues around data transfer from Rob Wyn Jones
  • Kevin Mayles, Head of Analytics at the Open University, returns to talk about implementing an institution wide strategy
  • Michael Webb will discuss progress with the Learning Analytics Processor and the Apereo Suite, being developed for us by Unicon and Marist College
  • At lunchtime there will be stalls with demos of some of the leading learning analytics solutions – Blackboard, Civitas Learning, Hobsons, Solutionpath and Tribal
  • After lunch we’ll have a panel session with the vendors, where I’ll put a series of questions to them about their products – and there’ll be a chance for you to ask your own questions too
  • We are fortunate to have Zhi Soon from Behavioural Insights attending to discuss “nudging” and interventions used by government to change public behaviour
  • This is followed by a discussion session on how to develop interventions at your institution
  • Finally we’ve got an update from The City of Liverpool College on how their learning analytics pilot went
