Big changes are coming to the Digital Elevation Tool

We’re excited to share that the Digital Elevation Tool is getting a major upgrade in mid-January. This update focuses on improving accessibility, navigation, and collaboration – all based on feedback from the sector.

Why the upgrade matters

The Digital Elevation Tool helps senior leaders in further education and skills organisations understand where they are on their digital journey and plan next steps. By validating your position against five key themes, you can make informed decisions that improve learner experience, staff development, and organisational resilience.

The new interface makes this process even easier and more intuitive, so you can focus on what matters most.

What’s new?

Here’s a sneak peek at some of the enhancements you’ll see in January:

  • Shareable validation statements
Every statement now has its own unique URL, making collaboration simple. Share a link with colleagues and take them straight to the point where you need input
  • Simplified user journey
A cleaner, modern design with clearer navigation helps you find what you need quickly. Fonts and colours now align with Jisc’s latest accessibility recommendations
  • Focused assessment views
Hone in on specific areas and levels – Foundation, Transform, or Elevate – for a more targeted experience
  • Contextual goal visibility
Goals now appear alongside validation statements, giving you richer context and helping you understand why each change matters
  • Smarter results filtering
Filter by status (e.g., In Progress) and view results by level for clearer progress tracking
  • Enhanced bookmarking
Jump straight to bookmarked statements from the bookmarks page to update or refine responses quickly.

These changes are designed to make the tool more accessible, collaborative, and future-ready.

When can you expect it?
