Our next UK Learning Analytics Network meeting is taking place at Newman University, Birmingham. Booking form
The programme (draft below) includes:
- An update on Jisc’s learning analytics programme from Paul Bailey and issues around data transfer from Rob Wyn Jones
- Kevin Mayles, Head of Analytics at the Open University, returns to talk about implementing an institution wide strategy
- Michael Webb will discuss progress with the Learning Analytics Processor and the Apereo Suite, being developed for us by Unicon and Marist College
- At lunchtime there will be stalls with demos of some of the leading learning analytics solutions – Blackboard, Civitas Learning, Hobsons, Solutionpath and Tribal
- After lunch we’ll have a panel session with the vendors, where I’ll put a series of questions to them about their products – and there’ll be a chance for you to ask your own questions too
- We are fortunate to have Zhi Soon from Behavioural Insights attending to discuss “nudging” and interventions used by government to change public behaviour
- This is followed by a discussion session on how to develop interventions at your institution
- Finally we’ve got an update from The City of Liverpool College on how their learning analytics pilot went
